We’re throwing a block party to send off Color Flows on Winter Street with a celebration of the art, culture, and community that made it all possible. Come hang out with us from 3 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 15 to experience Winter Street transformed by music, activations, and more.

ABOUT COLOR FLOWS ON WINTER STREET

This fall, Winter Street is coming alive with Color Flows, a six-week, family-friendly street transformation that will create a vibrant, welcoming space within the heart of Downtown. Color Flows is part of the City of Boston’s broader effort to reimagine how our streets and pedestrian zones can be safer, more engaging, and more enjoyable for all.

Please join Mayor Michelle Wu, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Codman Square neighbors, and the local community as we officially celebrate the completion of the new Codman Square Park.

Nubian Markets is the sixth location in our network of stores, making fresh produce more affordable for SNAP recipients. The event will include light refreshments, a resources table, and speeches from community leaders. All are welcome to attend! No ID or registration required.

Join us on Blue Hill Ave. on Saturday, October 18 for Open Streets Boston in Mattapan - the newest Open Streets Boston neighborhood! Get ready for live music, delicious food trucks, kid's activities, and local art that will bring the community together. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with your neighbors and learn more about local businesses and organizations along the route.

Open Streets Boston events are always free and open to all, so grab your friends and family and head on down to Blue Hill Ave. from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Blue Hill Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from River Street to Babson Street between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Starting at 6 a.m., parking will be prohibited on both sides of Blue Hill Avenue, River Street to Babson Street.

Come celebrate summer with us at the Boston Summer Eats Kick-Off Event! This fun, family-friendly event will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Paris Street Park in East Boston. (In case of rain, we’ll move across the street to the BCYF Paris Street Community Center.)

Boston Summer Eats is a partnership between OFJ, YMCA, BPS Food & Nutrition Services, BCYF, and Project Bread. The program provides free meals to all youth ages 18 and under in Boston while school is out.

The event will feature tasty Summer Eats meals, fun games, giveaways from local groups, and a special show from Puppet Showplace Theater. It’s also a great way to learn more about the 33 Summer Eats sites open across Boston. 

All youth 18 and under are welcome to participate! No ID or registration required.
