Join us for Echoes of Freedom, an evening of music, history, and celebration featuring the Howard University Gospel Choir, in honor of Juneteenth.

Founded at the legendary Howard University, one of the nation’s premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the Howard Gospel Choir has inspired audiences around the world with their soul-stirring harmonies and commitment to preserving the rich traditions of gospel music.

This special performance will uplift, reflect, and celebrate Black resilience and liberation, filling the historic Strand Theatre with songs of hope, struggle, and triumph.

👟 Shoes that slay AND stay – Whether you’re marching, rolling, dancing, or voguing down the route, wear whatever makes you feel fierce and comfortable. Sturdy sneakers, boots, or wheels 🦽 that sparkle — all are welcome to parade with us!

Join Mayor Michelle Wu and members of the community at Harambee Park (next to the Boys & Girls Club) as we celebrate the installation of 35 Caribbean flags along Blue Hill Avenue, from Mattapan Square to American Legion Highway.

This event honors the rich cultures and contributions of Boston’s Caribbean communities. For the first time, flags representing the full range of Caribbean nations will be displayed along this major corridor, recognizing the vibrant presence of Caribbean residents in our city.

All are welcome to come share in the celebration. Enjoy Caribbean music, local food vendors, and community connection.
