This presentation is an introduction to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) part of the USACE Boston CSRM process. This meeting is for all coastal neighborhoods including Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, South Boston, and Downtown/North End/Wharf District. This is a virtual meeting that will be recorded. This meeting will cover the same information as the NEPA Scoping Meeting for General Public held on 3/25/2026.

 You can expect to:

  • Learn what the National Environmental Policy Act is
  • Learn how USACE is assessing environmental, cultural, and historical impacts of their projects
  • Learn when important information will be available in 2026 
  • Learn how to provide feedback in writing for this phase

The Boston Tree Alliance (BTA) Program is hosting a training on tree planting.  Learn how to prepare a planting site, assess roots, and care of young trees through proper pruning, watering, and mulching with the BTA program’s urban forester.

This event is open to the BTA Planting Grant grantees and the public for anyone to learn how to plant and care for trees.  A portion of this event will include a training on data collection for grantees on reporting and how to use TreePlotter, a digital tool to manage tree inventory and mapping.

Explore troubleshooting and repair with volunteer coaches.

Fixit Clinics are free workshops where people bring broken stuff—from bikes to blenders to blazers—and volunteer coaches share their tools and know-how to help troubleshoot and (hopefully) repair items. These meet-ups build hands-on skills, confidence, community, and a culture of reuse and repair. The City of Boston Environment Department is partnering with the Artisan's Asylum to host one of these events.
