The City of Boston is getting a new Youth Poet Laureate! Join us for a showcase at Boston Public Library's Rabb Hall featuring the 2026 finalists, and find out who will serve as the fourth Boston Youth Poet Laureate (BYPL).
The BYPL is a writer and advocate who performs original works at civic events, brings poetry into schools and libraries, leads a special interest project, and works closely with Boston’s current Poet Laureate, Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah, to strengthen the City’s literary community.

The Mayor’s Youth Summit is an annual event designed to celebrate the contributions of young people to Boston's culture and build connections between Boston youth. This flagship event creates an exciting space for youth to showcase their talents, connect with City leaders, and have fun with their peers.
The 2026 Mayor's Youth Summit will take place on Saturday, February 21, at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. This event will feature free food, giveaways, youth performances, guest speakers, interactive installments, raffle prizes, and more. Learn more about the Summit here.
On Feb. 19, Boston youths, ages 17 and under, can "skate with friends and families" from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chez Vous Skating Rink in Dorchester.
