In 1991, he began a residency at the Boston Loft after-hours club with Armand Van Helden. The following year, he started the Legendary Utopia Parties. Utopia still remains as one of Boston’s hottest deep house music events. In 2006, Boston Magazine named DJ Bruno “DJ of the Year'' and in 2007, Weekly Dig awarded Utopia Sundays the “Best House Night in Boston.” With clubs not opened to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, DJ Bruno decided to take his music virtual on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Face the Bass Records and on Fridays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on DHP Radio. His motto is, “If we can dance together, we can live together” and he is on a mission to spread this motto all over the world, whether it be virtually or in person. Phunk Phenomenon

Phunk Phenomenon Dance Complex is a non-traditional dance studio. Our Mission is to reach out to today's youth through the art of urban dance. Hip-hop is not just a dance it is a culture containing 5 elements. Our goal is to educate our students on those 5 elements within each of our specialized classes. Urban dance styles have always been the heart of inner cities as a way of expression and a means of building self esteem. The Phunk Phenomenon instructors will provide each class with a truly positive experience through what we like to refer to as "EDUTAINMENT", meaning we not only teach choreography but we also teach the history behind each art form.

2022 Boston Gospel Fest

Special guest Travis Greene

August 7, 2022
2022-08-07T17:00:00 - 2022-08-07T20:00:00

Join us for the 2022 Gospel Fest at Playstead Field at Franklin Park. This event showcases both national and local gospel talent. Blending contemporary and traditional gospel melodies, this annual event is produced by the Mayor’s Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment in partnership with the Faith Collective. This event is free and open to the public.

Travis Greene will headline the concert, and Angela Elizabeth, Chris Bender, Kymberli Joye, and the Mayor’s Community Gospel Choir will also perform. This event will be hosted by the Bishop Bobby Perry, founder and pastor at Kingdom Builders' Worship Center in Dorchester.

Attendees are welcome to bring a chair or blanket to the concert venue, Playstead Field at Franklin Park. Suya Joint food truck will have food and drink available for purchase at the event. The Boston Water and Sewer Commission water truck will also be on site for attendees.

About Travis Greene

Growing up with a mother who was a minister and choir director, Travis Greene says that gospel music “was like oxygen in our house, always part of my life,” and no artist inspired him and strengthened his passion for God more than 12-time Grammy winning legend Kirk Franklin.  Now an inspirational trailblazer in his own right, Greene’s masterful fusion of music and ministry these past few years prompted Franklin to anoint him as one of the artists who are the “future of gospel music.” Continuing on his global mission to “bring the cool back to the worship experience, and get people, especially the unchurched, excited,” the two time Grammy nominee debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart with his latest album Crossover: Live From Music City. Its lead single “You Waited” hit #1 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. For more information and new music updates, visit his website and follow Greene on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @TravisGreentv.
