Join the Office of Small Business for a virtual forum discussing resources for veteran-owned small businesses. 

Join the City of Boston Licensing Board for virtual office hours aimed at supporting veterans through the liquor license application process.

The Supplier Diversity Department hosts weekly virtual certification office hours for Minority / Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) every Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. On May 21, virtual office hours will be aimed at supporting veterans through the business certification process.

Please note: The City of Boston does not certify Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). However, we recognize those businesses that have been certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration and include this designation in the directory with their City certification.

Hosted by the Downtown Boston Alliance, the Queer Artists Market brings a day of outdoor festivities and shopping to Downtown Crossing in partnership with The Queer Neighborhood Council. Visitors can browse a diverse selection of handmade art and goods from LGBTQIA+ vendors while also connecting with local advocacy organizations offering community resources and support services. The event features live music from Boston’s The Femmes, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. At Summer Street Plaza @ Washington St. from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., this celebration of creativity and community is a must-visit. Rain date: June 1.

Hosted by the Downtown Boston Alliance, the Boston Women’s Market brings together 20 local women-owned businesses for a vibrant artisan showcase in Downtown Crossing. Visitors can stroll through Summer Street and shop a variety of one-of-a-kind, handmade goods, including home decor, art, jewelry, and more. This free event is the perfect way to support women entrepreneurs while enjoying the lively energy of Boston’s shopping district in full spring bloom. Whether you’re looking to refresh your space, find a unique gift, or simply soak in the atmosphere, this market offers a wonderful city outing for all.

The Mayor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion is hosting a reception to celebrate the winners of the 2025 Legacy Business Awards. This year we had over 1,450 nominations and 65 businesses were invited to apply. 

The evening will commence with an award ceremony, followed by a reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.  There will be live music and entertainment, and a chance to meet this year's awardees.

The ceremony will honor businesses for their significant impact on the Boston community. Mayor Michelle Wu, elected officials, City of Boston staff, and members of the Boston Community will be in attendance.
