A flyer displaying details for Age Strong's Codman Square Memory Cafe. The top of the page displays cafe visitors posing for a photo.

Memory cafés meet at a variety of places, including coffeehouses, museums, or community organizations. Each memory café is different. Some cafés invite guest artists, some offer education about memory changes. And some are just for relaxing and chatting. But, all cafés share one goal — to help guests feel comfortable and to know that they are not alone. Cafés are a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through. You can forget about your limitations and instead focus on your strengths.

CODMAN SQUARE BRANCH OF THE BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

690 Washington Street, Dorchester

Meets the second Wednesday of every month, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The Senior Advisor for Community Safety is responsible for building a set of summer specific recommendations around the various aspects of community safety - namely engagement of community, along with efforts across the city prioritizing the intervention and prevention of violence. In 2022, Isaac Yablo engaged with communities across the city for the first-ever community focused Summer Safety Plan. In 2023, the Community Safety team hosted nearly 30 meetings in 9 neighborhoods to help prepare, preview and publish the plan.
