Abdullah Beckett
Abdullah Beckett was born and raised in the Roxbury Neighborhood of Boston and is a graduate of Boston Public Schools and UMass Boston.
While in college, Abdullah Co-founded the National award winning NAACP chapter at UMASS Boston and served as vice president. He is a co-founder and the first president of the UMASS Boston chapter of My Brother's Keeper where he championed mentorship and youth development at the university and still serves as an advisor for the fellowship program. He served as an inaugural Commissioner for the City of Boston’s Commission on Black Men and Boys and was a part of the Education and Youth Development subcommittee under Mayor Michelle Wu. Most recently he served as the community engagement and constituent services director for District 4 City Councilor Brian Worrell. Abdullah earned his B.S in Exercise Health Science from UMASS Boston.
