Amber Torres

Public Art Project Manager

As Public Art Project Manager, Amber Torres (she/her/hers) is responsible for managing the city’s public art commissions. Amber has previously held positions in outreach and program management at arts organizations such as the Boston Arts Academy, Boys and Girls Club (BlueHill) and the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts. As host of local online platforms The Museum Tv, HoodGrown Aesthetic, Cabo Verde Network and more, Amber learned to combine institutional knowledge with a grassroots approach in order to create new pathways for artists to access and benefit from Boston’s creative economy. 

In 2016, Amber received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Hamilton College as well as a Kirkland Endowment grant in 2014, the Emerson Research Collaborative in 2015 and the Levitt Center’s Social Innovation Fellowship in 2016. 

Amber is a practicing mixed media artist, philosopher, podcaster, activist, and public advocate for the arts.
