Open Streets Boston is free and open to all, so grab your friends and family and head on down to Dorchester Ave from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Please note:

• Blue Hill Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from West Cottage Street to Warren Street between the hours of 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
• Starting at 6 a.m, parking will be prohibited on both sides of Blue Hill Avenue from Alaska Street to Warren Street, and on the northeast (even) side of Warren Street from Blue Hill Ave to Sunderland Street.

Discover the heartbeat of Jamaica Plain at Open Streets on Sunday, July 21st! Located on Centre St. between Lamartine St. to South St.. This event invites you to immerse yourself in the community's rich culture. Make your way along the route and explore a medley of local businesses, activity zones, live music, and food! Here you’ll find everything from face painting, yummy treats from local food vendors, interactive art and more!

Embrace the spirit of togetherness along this car-free route from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—it's an unforgettable celebration of Jamaica Plain's community that is free for the public to attend.

Kicking off the annual Gardening Together Series - an informative, outdoor event on the Loring Greenough lawn to celebrate the arrival of Spring! Come discover how to wake up your sleeping garden, “meet” some of the people who lived and worked at Loring Greenough, and see a secret space recently explored by the city’s Archeologist!

One resident describes the Kite and Bike Festival as, “My favorite day ever in the twenty years I’ve lived in Boston!”

Picture endless blue skies dotted with colorful kites, children and families running and laughing across bright green fields — this event is not to be missed!

This event is hosted by the Franklin Park Coalition. 

Of the thousands of flowering plants in the Arboretum, only one is singled out each year for a daylong celebration. Mainly located on the edge of Bussey Hill Road in the heart of the landscape, the lilac collection at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is among the premier collections of these plants in North America. Lilac Sunday has been celebrated at the Arnold Arboretum since 1908.

Tours of the lilacs and family activities are available from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., but the Arboretum is open as usual from dawn to dusk.  

Family Zumba gives you and your family a chance to be active together. It’s a full body workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. While many of the types of dance and music featured in the program are Latin American inspired, this class also contains choreographed moves to Soca, Dancehall, Afrobeats and Hip-hop.
