Public Facilities Commission Meeting (BFD)

ATTENDANCE

On March 28, 2025, Governor Healy approved an extension to remote and hybrid meeting options for public bodies established under Former Governor Baker's Executive Order of March 12, 2020, Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law through June 30, 2027. The Public Facilities Commission (PFC) will continue to conduct its meetings virtually and to ensure its public access to its deliberations through adequate, alternative means.

For public participation requests, please email PFC@boston.gov. Any and all requests for public participation must be received no later than the commencement of this Public Facilities Commission meeting (10 a.m.).

    Pursuant to a vote of the Boston Redevelopment Authority on December 11, 2025 the Commissioner of the Boston Fire Department (“BFD”), acting by and through the authority of the Public Facilities Commission, be and hereby is, authorized to accept a deed from Boston Redevelopment Authority (“BRA”) d/b/a Boston Planning & Development Agency (“BPDA”), for nominal consideration of ONE DOLLAR ($1.00), a certain parcel of vacant land consisting of approximately 3,900 ± square feet, located at 11 Ashmont Park, (Ward: 16, Parcel: 03091000) in the Dorchester District of the City of Boston as described in a deed by and between 11 Ashmont Park, LLC, as Grantor and BPDA, as Grantee, recorded at the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds at Book 72223, Page 266. 
     
    WHEREAS, the Public Facilities Commission, by virtue of the requirements contained in Section 3(f)(ii) of Chapter 642 of the Acts of 1966 has the authority to delegate any of its powers or functions to any other department or officer of the City of Boston and such officer or department is authorized and directed to accept such delegation and exercise the power and perform the function so delegated; 
     
    WHEREAS, the Public Facilities Commission, by virtue of the requirements contained in Section (3)(f)(v) of Chapter 642, of the Acts of 1966, has the power and authority to make and execute all contracts and instruments and do all things necessary or convenient for the exercise and fulfillment of the Commission’s powers, duties and responsibilities pursuant to this act; 
     
    WHEREAS, the provisions of St.1909, C.486, s.31A (as appearing in St.1966, C.642, s.12) authorizes the Public Facilities Commission, without obtaining the consent of any other board or officer or further authority, in the name of the City, to acquire for any municipal purpose a fee simple absolute or any lesser interest in any land, public or private, within the limits of the City; 
     
    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT VOTED: That the Commissioner of the Boston Fire Department be, and hereby is, authorized to accept, on behalf of the City of Boston, the aforementioned deed from the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) d/b/a Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) and is authorized to execute and deliver all contracts, documents or other instruments, which are approved as to form by the Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston when such are deemed necessary or appropriate to effectuate the purposes of this vote, and to record and file any and all of the required documents concerning the same with the Suffolk Registry of Deeds and/or the Suffolk Registry District of the Land Court and such property from aforementioned deed to be placed in BFD’s care, custody, and management until further notice.
