Age Strong Blog: Age Strong Civic Academy Wants YOU!

Boston’s older adults are some of the city’s most wise, vibrant, and engaged residents. Sometimes their opinions and contributions go unheard. Age Strong looks to change that by inviting residents 55+ plus to join our Age Strong Senior Civic Academy.

The Civic Academy is a free 6-week course this fall at Boston City Hall and the State House. Academy participants will meet in person to learn more about government processes, civic engagement, and how to use your voice to affect change.

The 6 sessions will cover the following topics:

  • October 4: Introduction to Civic Engagement / Advocacy
  • October 11: Skill-building and Introduction to City Government
  • October 18: Engaging with City Government
  • October 25: Engaging with State Government
  • November 1: Engaging with Federal Government
  • November 8: Graduation
