Special Hazards permit applications and guides

The Special Hazards Unit is responsible for the issuing of permits for:

  • vent-less fireplaces
  • oil burners
  • tank installations and removals
  • annual storage
  • temporary storage
  • emergency generators
  • gas stations
  • open air parking
  • transportation of hazardous material, and
  • special events.

This unit is responsible for reviewing plans and the associated inspections that may be applicable to a particular permit. The special events area includes permits for special effects in the theater, movies, concerts, or private functions,  tentage, cooking, temporary heat, and fuel storage for generators.
