Attendees can look forward to engaging displays, equipment, and opportunities to meet the brave men and women who embody the Marine ethos. Join us in the heart of New England as we honor our rich legacy and commitment to excellence.

Located on the terrace above the playground at City Hall Plaza (pending City of Boston license approval), this two-hour drop-in event is for families and children under 12 who want to learn to ride and practice their riding skills. A variety of different sized bikes and helmets will be provided, and staff will be present to lead on-bike games and teach bike riding skills and safe riding tips and techniques.

Individuals and families: no registration is required. We will have waivers available at the site. 

Groups and schools: please email us so that we know to expect your group! Hand out waivers to students ahead of time so they can participate. Everyone that takes part in our program must have a signed waiver to ride bikes. Teachers / group leaders are responsible for collecting bringing signed waivers to the event. 

If you have mastered the basic skills like starting, stopping, and turning, and you have familiarity with using hand signals and shifting gears, come to a free Street Skills clinic. This class builds from the skills practiced in our Road Readiness clinics. We’ll ride as a group on streets with low-speed traffic, learning how to start and stop safely at traffic signals, ride a safe distance from parked cars and moving vehicles, communicate with other road users, and make turns at intersections. This class is open to people of all genders. Participants are welcome (but not required) to take Road Readiness and Street Skills on the same day. 

Registration required. Bicycles and helmets provided for all participants for the duration of the workshop. 

If you cannot yet ride independently across a parking lot, have not mastered stopping and starting smoothly, or are unable to use hand signals, please do not register for this clinic. Our Basic Skills class is more appropriate.

If you have the basic biking skills like starting, stopping, and turning, but want to build your confidence to ride in the street, come to a free Road Readiness clinic for adults. Our experienced staff and volunteers will help each participant gain skills and confidence so you’re ready to venture onto the street and keep on rolling! This class is taught entirely in a parking lot. We will run through some fun activities to build skills like using hand signals, shifting gears, and riding in a steady line. You’ll get lots of practice and one-on-one support. This class is open to people of all genders.

If you cannot ride independently across a parking lot yet, please do not register for this clinic. Our Basic Skills class is more appropriate.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the City of Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu will host a special celebration at the intersection of Dearborn and Albany Streets in Roxbury to honor New Edition, the legendary R&B group founded here in 1978. Starting at 10 a.m., this free public event will pay tribute to the group’s lasting influence on both Boston’s cultural identity and the music industry worldwide. Join us as we unveil New Edition Way and celebrate the hometown icons whose sound continues to inspire generations.

Get ready for Fan Fest, an afternoon of flavor, fun, and friendly competition at Harvard Stadium. Explore food trucks serving up local favorites, shop from Black-owned businesses, and enjoy activities for all ages. The excitement peaks with a spectacular Greek Stroll Off, organized by the Greater Boston National Pan-Hellenic Council, where step teams representing the Divine Nine will bring their best moves for a chance to win $5,000.

This free, public event takes place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. — don’t miss your chance to be part of the action.

Can't remember the last time you were on a bike? Or never learned to ride? Come to a free learn-to-ride workshop and learn alongside other adults. 

This class is open to all genders, and is appropriate for people who have never ridden a bike before, have not been on a bike for a long time, or can pedal but need to work on basic skills (like stopping, turning, and changing gears). It is taught entirely in a parking lot.
