Boston Farmers Markets
With many locations across Boston, you can buy affordable, healthy, and fresh local produce at local farmers markets.
Use SNAP and HIP at Farmers Markets
Many Boston farmers markets accept SNAP/EBT cards. If you get SNAP benefits, you are automatically enrolled in the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP). HIP puts money back on your EBT card when you use SNAP to buy fruits and vegetables from HIP farm vendors. Look for farmers with the HIP logo at their tables.
- Your monthly HIP cap is currently $40 per month (starting July 1, 2025)
- HIP benefits start over on the first day of each month
- You can use HIP at farmers markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSA farm share programs
Find HIP vendors near you: Use the DTA Finder

Farmers Market Coupon Program
The Farmers Market Coupon Program aims to make fresh food accessible for households experiencing food insecurity, prioritizing those who do not qualify for other food resources, especially immigrant and refugee households.
The program runs from July to October. Coupon booklets of up to $25 in value are distributed monthly by community organizations and healthcare centers across Boston. Coupons can be used at any City of Boston farmers market (*except the Charlesgate, SoWa, and Worcester Street markets) to purchase fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, meats and seafood, dried goods, baked goods such as bread, and seeds or seedlings.
