BCYF Blackstone Courtyard Renaming
Embrace Boston is requesting a public meeting for the renaming the Blackstone BCYF Courtyard to honor José F. Massó III and Divina Nieves- Massó, two extraordinary community leaders whose lifelong dedication to social justice, cultural preservation, and public service has left a lasting impact on the South End and Villa Victoria communities of Boston.
The Blackstone Courtyard has long served as a cherished communal space—a place where residents gather, generations connect, and music breathes life into the culture and history of the neighborhood. It is also the longtime home of Salsa in the Park, a beloved celebration of Latinx culture, and a direct reflection of the Massós' enduring commitment to uplifting the community through the arts.
