Tree Removal Hearing: Downtown

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove three (3) public shade trees at 55 Hudson Street, Downtown.

    Request for the removal of two (2) Red Maple trees measuring 15 inches DBH (diameter at breast height) and 16 inches DBH and one (1) Ash tree measuring 15 inches DBH located on 55 Hudson St in order for the Asian Community Development Corporation to facilitate the construction and installation of new underground utilities for a 12-story building consisting of 66 affordable rental apartments, 44 affordable homeownership condo units, and a two-story branch of the Boston Public Library.

    The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, July 10, at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

    Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Hudson St Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
