Tree Removal Hearing: Dorchester

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove three (3) public shade trees at 40 Geneva Avenue, Dorchester.

    Request for the removal of one (1) Crabapple tree measuring 2 inches DBH (diameter at breast height) and two (2) Cherry trees measuring 6 inches DBH and 5 inches DBH, located on Oldfields Road, in order to construct the new Dorchester Community Center and to reconstruct the sidewalk on Oldfields Road including the installation of eight (8) new public shade trees.

    The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

    Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Geneva Ave Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
