    1400    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Three Million Nine Hundred Sixty Six Thousand Nine Hundred 

        Dollars ($3,966,900.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY26 Safe and 

        Successful Youth Initiative Grant, awarded by the Massachusetts Executive 

        Office of Health and Human Services to be administered by the Police 

        Department. The grant will fund a comprehensive, interagency strategy that 

        connects law enforcement, employment, education, public health and youth 

        development agencies to reduce youth violence in the Commonwealth.

        1401    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Three Million Eight Hundred Forty Two Thousand Six Hundred 

        Dollars ($3,842,600.00) awarded by the Massachusetts Department of 

        Transportation to be administered by the Transportation Department. The 

        grant will fund the replacement and construction of all sidewalks and safety 

        ornamental fencing of all Massachusetts Department of Transportation 

        property along Riverview Road, and the creation of a passive part at the 

        corner of Vineland Street and North Beacon Street in Brighton.



        1402    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a 

        grant from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in an amount 

        not to exceed Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($550,000.00) for 

        construction cost relative to improving the sidewalk and bus loading and 

        unloading on Saint James Street bordering Copley in the Back Bay section 

        of the City of Boston.

        1403    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of One Hundred Thirty Six Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Two 

        Dollars and Thirty Five Cents ($136,722.35) in the form of a grant, from 

        the Shelter Supplemental Funding Grant, awarded by the MassHire 

        Department of Career Services to be administered by the Office of 

        Workforce Development. The grant will fund MassHire Career Centers with 

        supplemental funding to support emergency assistance (EA) shelter 

        residents with training and employment opportunities.

        1404    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of One Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000.00) in the form 

        of a grant for the HBS Leadership Fellow Grant, awarded by the Harvard 

        Business School to be administered by the Mayor’s Office. The grant will 

        fund the HBS Leadership Fellow position which will provide 1 year of 

        support to the Mayor’s Office.

        1405    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) in the 

        form of a grant for the Northeastern and W. T. Grant Foundation Grant, 

        awarded by the William T. Grant Foundation, passed through Northeastern 

        University, to be administered by the OYEO Administration. The grant will 

        fund OYEO staff member to design, implement, and maintain a new hiring 

        platform for the City to support both the summer and year round programs.

        1406    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) in the form of a grant, 

        for the Friends of Youth Opportunities Boston State Street Grant, awarded 

        by the Boston State Street Global Advisors to be administered by the Office 

        of Workforce Development. The grant will fund opportunities for young 

        people ages 14 24 to work and learn along with intensive staff support.



        1407    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) in the form of a grant, for 

        the Friends of Youth Opportunities Boston Grant, awarded by the Baupost 

        Group to be administered by the Office of Workforce Development. The 

        grant will fund opportunities for young people ages 14 24 to work and learn 

        along with intensive staff support.

        1408    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Forty Five Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Three Dollars and 

        Three Cents ($45,683.03) in the form of a grant, awarded by the 

        USDA Food & Nutrition Service, passed through the MassHire Department 

        of Career Services, to be administered by the Office of Workforce 

        Development. The grant will fund enhanced job search services for TAFDC 

        and SNAP participants including career counseling, workshops, job fairs, 

        and free job searches through Boston’s MassHire Career Centers.

        1409    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Ten Thousand Dollars and One Cent ($10,000.01) in the form of 

        a grant, for the FY23 National Violent Death Reporting System, awarded by 

        the MA Department of Public Health to be administered by the Police 

        Department. The grant will fund data collection by the Bureau of 

        Investigative Services and the Drug Control Unit.

        grant for the Immigrant Advancement Fund Grant, awarded by the Boston 

        Foundation to be administered by the Office of Immigrant Advancement. 

        The grant will fund programs, initiatives, events and small grants that 

        enable immigrants to play an active role in the economic, civic, social and 

        cultural life of the City of Boston, submits a report recommending that the 

        Order ought to pass.

        0893    The Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice, to which was 

        referred on April 16, 2025, Docket #0893, Message and order authorizing 

        the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred 

        Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) in the form of a grant for the CJP 

        Communal Security Initiative, awarded by the  Combined Jewish 

        Philanthropies to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will 

        fund the installation of CCTV cameras outside the Jewish institutions, to be 

        monitored by the Police Department, in hopes of protecting faith based 

        institutions, submits a report recommending that the Order ought to pass.



        1261    The Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice, to which was 

        referred on June 25, 2025, Docket #1261, Message and order authorizing 

        the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Hundred 

        Fifty One Thousand One Hundred Forty Five Dollars ($251,145.00) in the 

        form of a grant, for the MA Innocence and Conviction Integrity 

        Collaboration Grant, awarded by the United States Department of Justice, 

        passed through the Committee for Public Counsel Services, to be 

        administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the BPD Crime 

        Lab staff time for the Massachusetts Innocence and Conviction Integrity
