VIRTUAL TREE REMOVAL HEARING - SOUTH BOSTON

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on the request to remove twenty eight (28) public shade trees in the vicinity of 244 – 284 A Street in South Boston.

    Nitsch Engineering on behalf of Related Beal and Channelside Acquisitions, LLC is requesting the removal of twenty eight (28) trees surrounding the proposed project site of 244 – 284 A Street in South Boston. On Binford Street there are five Sweetgum trees measuring 4” dbh (diameter at breast height); six Oak trees measuring 2.5” dbh; and six Elm Trees measuring 2.5” dbh. On A Street, there are five Honey Locust trees measuring 2.5” dbh; and six Honey Locust trees measuring 3” dbh.

    The hearing will be held remotely on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Via ZOOM.

    Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing parks@boston.gov with “South Boston Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
