Ricardo Patrón currently serves as the East Boston liaison for City Councilor Lydia Edwards. Ricardo manages all constituent issues for the neighborhood. He attends neighborhood association meetings and other public meetings on behalf of Councilor Edwards to help her have an understanding of how the community feels about a particular issue or development project. Ricardo also helps manage the councilor’s social media accounts (both in English and Spanish) and responds to constituent emails and letters as necessary.

Public service has always been important to Ricardo. His first job out of college was working as a public school teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools, where he taught in a bilingual classroom environment. Instruction was done in both English and Spanish to students that ranged from recent arrivals to first-generation Americans. He has also worked as a case manager for the criminal justice system in Milwaukee. In that role, he helped defendants successfully complete the conditions of their diversion agreements in order to avoid a criminal conviction or jail time.

Ricardo and his wife settled in East Boston in early 2016 and it has quickly become their home. Ricardo loves Eastie and is honored to help serve the people of the community.

It’s a great way for Latinx people at City Hall to meet and talk about shared experiences while having fun and working hard to make sure Boston is inclusive for everyone.
