Tree Removal Hearing: South End
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove two (2) public shade trees at 50 Herald Street, South End.

The request is for the removal of two (2) public shade trees located on the Washington Street side of 50 Herald Street, South End, in order to facilitate the construction of a 7-story building consisting of 117 affordable rental units and 25,000 square feet of commercial space. The following trees are being requested for removal: Two (2) Zelkova trees measuring 10 inches DBH (diameter at breast height) and 8 inches DBH.
The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, January 8, at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom.

Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Herald Street Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
