Install or Replace a Sink, Toilet, Shower, or Bathtub
If you’re replacing or installing a sink, toilet, shower, or bathtub, you’ll need to hire a contractor who can apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform the work.

Who can install or replace?
- Homeowners and contractors can apply for the Short-form Permit.
- Only a contractor with a valid, non-expired Massachusetts trade license may apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform any plumbing work related to installing or replacing sinks, toilets, showers, or bathtubs.
