VIRTUAL Liquor License Upgrade Public Hearing
As you may be aware, the City of Boston has accepted M.G.L. ch. 138 s. 12D (as codified by Chapter 9 of the Acts of 2025). This change would permit the Licensing Board for the City of Boston (the “Board”) to allow licensees permitted to sell only wines and malt beverages pursuant to M.G.L. ch. 138 s. 12 to trade in said license and be issued a non-transferable all alcoholic beverages license.
The enabling legislation allows the Board to establish additional requirements. To that end, please be advised that the Board has scheduled a public hearing to afford all licensees and the public an opportunity to be heard regarding any potential changes.
The hearing has been scheduled for:
Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2 p.m.
- Registration is required: Register for the meeting
You are welcome to attend this hearing but are not required to do so. If you are unable to attend but would like to submit written comments for the Board’s consideration, you may submit written testimony in email to licensingboard@boston.gov.
Any questions can be directed to the Board’s Executive Secretary, Daniel R. Green, Esq. at 617-635-2667 or danny.green@boston.gov
