Daniel Keating Jr.
Keating is a Fellow in the Office of Emerging Technology for the City of Boston, a practicing artist, and civic innovation enthusiast.
He entered a degree program at Northern Essex Community College at 28 as a non-traditional student and later transferred cum laude to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration in Urban and Organization Studies from the BDIC program and a bachelor’s degree in Management from the Isenberg School of Management.
Keating previously had a lengthy career in fashion in New York City and Boston, and has so far enjoyed his active retirement by: working as a farmhand for three years at Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, becoming a professional game master at GenCon, developing his artistic practice, and contributing to Boston’s emerging technology priorities.
He is, generally speaking, a fan of Humankind and is inspired by the notion of working to maximize public and planetary benefit over shareholder value.
