Boston Landmarks Commission Hearing - October 10, 2023

The commission will hold its next monthly public hearing virtually on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 6 p.m.

  1. I. Advisory Review

     24.0312 BLC 80 & 100 SMITH STREET 

    Rode Architects will present progress designs for the new buildings at 80 & 100 Smith Street.

    This new development at 80 + 100 Smith St will be built in place of the existing Convent and St Alphonsus Hall buildings in the lower campus of the Mission Church campus in Mission Hill. The new development will have an 8-story structure at 80 Smith and a 13-story structure at 100 Smith, with 218 new dwellings units and 87 on-site parking spaces including a below-grade parking garage. The existing structure at 90 Smith is not a part of this project scope.

    The project received approval (which has since lapsed) from the Commission in 2005. The project retains the massing and general character of the 2005 approvals, and is being reviewed by the City of Boston and BPDA through a notice of project change.
