Florence (Flo) Glynn

E&I Program Administrator

Florence (Flo) Glynn (she/her/hers & they/them/theirs) is the E&I Program Administrator for the City of Boston overseeing the E&I Coordination Network and E&I Academy, two intentional and results-driven initiatives of the E&I Cabinet to improve social determinants of health for the historically excluded communities represented in our cabinet.

Previously, Flo worked as the Training & Development Specialist for the Mayor's Office of Language and Communications Access (OLCA). In this role, Flo developed and facilitated trainings and resources to guide City departments on accessibility for people who speak languages other than English (LOTE) and people with disabilities. Before OLCA, Flo worked at the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement (MOIA), where she co-piloted the first Immigrants Lead Boston program of 2020 as a Rappaport Fellow and then Program Coordinator for Immigrants Lead Boston. She later advocated for equitable policy change for immigrants as the Graduate Policy Associate at MOIA. One of the highlights of her work as Graduate Policy Associate was co-piloting the Weaving Well-Being Grants to expand mental health programming for immigrant communities in Boston.

Flo grew up in Virginia with her French family and graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in Religious Studies and Psychology. She continued her studies, graduating with a MSW/MTS from Boston University’s School of Social Work and School of Theology. She intertwines her experience as a queer French American with her pursuit of conflict transformation, social justice, meaning-making, and community-centered design and development of programs and policies. Outside of work, you can find Flo walking around Jamaica Pond with her partner Maeve or playing with her gray tabby cat Thor at home.
