Spring Activities in Boston

This month, we are highlighting healthy activities and events to celebrate the onset of spring.

As the weather gets warmer, many find themselves restless from the winter cold, and look for ways to reconnect with the world around them. While COVID-19 is not gone as a threat, and we encourage following the recommendations of your trusted medical professionals for ongoing protection from the virus and any future variants, past COVID restrictions have largely been reduced or eliminated in Boston for the time being, allowing for the reopening of major Boston institutions and sources of entertainment and education.  After the anxiety and stress of the last two years, many see this is an opportunity to not just reconnect and visit with friends and family, but to reintroduce themselves to the rich culture of Boston through its museums, celebrations, food and activities.  Listed below are several major highlights to consider:

Boston offers many exceptional museums for individuals and families. Visit the websites listed below to learn more:

  • This Eventbrite calendar also shows both free and paid events for spring 2022
  • The Boston Marathon, scheduled for April 18,2022, is an excellent outdoor celebration citywide to celebrate Boston pride and the athleticism and determination of the participants each year.
  • Our own department of Parks and Recreation is continuing their free fitness series, follow their page for an ongoing calendar of free fitness classes.
  • How often have you explored or experienced your own city like a tourist?   Take a trolley tour and learn about Boston’s historic downtown and more, or a duck boat tour for excellent sightseeing vistas on land and water alike!

As always, if you need help with stress or adjusting to the change in the seasons, we at the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) are available for you. Have a warm and safe April.
