Employee Resource Groups
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are independently organized, led, and governed by City of Boston employees.
The goal of these groups in is to help leverage the City's workforce diversity to:
- foster inclusion, and
- deliver the best public service possible.
Employee Resource Groups deepen employee engagement and satisfaction in the workplace. They provide a sense of community and belonging. ERGs work to find ways to make a positive impact in the lives of employees, and residents.
About
The Office of Equity and Inclusion supports Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the effort to enhance workplace quality. We want to facilitate communication and collaboration across departments, up and through seniority levels.
ERGs aim to create a culture that values the contributions of all employees. Our goal is to provide equal opportunity for professional development and career advancement.
There are currently eight different Employee Resource Groups engaging over 1000 employees. The groups are centered around a variety of interests and identities.
