Boston Election Department State Election post-election tabulation

The City of Boston Election Department will begin removing State Election mail-in voting ballots received on Election Day and ballots received by November 6 that were postmarked on November 3. Starting November 12 at 9 a.m.

    Please take notice that the City of Boston will be removing State Election mail-in voting ballots received on election day and ballots received by November 6 that were postmarked on November 3 from their envelopes and depositing these ballots into a tabulator. Processing and removal will begin 9am Thursday, November 12 and will continue each successive day as needed until complete, including Saturday, November 14.

    This process will be open for public observation. Those who plan to observe the post-election tabulation must register using our online appointment application or by calling 617-635-4634. Due to COVID-19, the number of observers permitted at a given time may be limited.
