2021 Mayor's Pumpkin Carving Contest

Share photos of your jack-o'-lanterns with the Boston Parks Department and we will share our favorites on social media. Enter the contest for your chance to win a prize courtesy of the farm families who own Cabot Creamery Co-operative.

  2. Compete! Enter Mayor Janey's Pumpkin Carving Contest.
  3. Compost! Learn about composting your pumpkin at home or at locations around the City.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

We know that people spend a lot of time and effort carving their pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns this time of year. The Boston Parks Department wants to make sure that all the artistry is recognized.

First prize winners in each category will receive a $75 gift basket courtesy of the farm families who own Cabot Creamery Co-operative.

Pumpkin Carving Contest Rules:
  • Submit your jack-o'-lantern through our online form.
  • Get creative! (No need to use our stencils. Use your own design!)
  • Contest submissions will be accepted starting October 12, 2021, and will conclude on October 31, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Winners will be chosen and prizes will be awarded for each of three categories:
    • 1. Most creative
    • 2. Scariest
    • 3. Boston-Parks themed
