Lisa Timberlake
Ms. Timberlake was born in Boston on December 24, 1969. She graduated from Natick High School in 1988. She graduated from the University of Boston, Bachelor of Arts program, in 2009, and Boston University, Master of Urban Affairs, in 2011.
Lisa Timberlake is the Director of Publicity for the City of Boston, Inspectional Services Department (ISD). She began her employment at ISD in 1997 as a Clerk Typist. In 1999, Lisa was promoted to Sr. Administrative Assistant to the Commissioner. In 2003, she was then promoted to the Asst. Media Relations, and in 2012, she was promoted to her current position as Director of Publicity.
As Director of Publicity, Lisa serves as the Commissioner’s and the department’s public relations advisor, as well as the outreach and education coordinator, assisting all divisions in informing the public about ISD’s policies, procedures, and projects. She manages the department’s social media presence, coordinates media requests and requests for public information. Lisa is also and works collaboratively on press releases with other City and State agencies. She also supervises the clerical staff in the Commissioner’s Office. Recently, she has taken a more intense role in representing and improving the department's image and has been designated as one of the department’s Senior Staff, providing input and feedback on all department and citywide policies and procedures.
