Traffic advisory for 2020 Chinese New Year Celebration

The celebration taking place on Sunday, February 2, 2020, will impact parking in Chinatown and Downtown.

The annual Chinese New Year Celebration will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 and it will include a Lion Dance.

People coming into the City to celebrate are strongly encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles. Drivers are strongly cautioned to carefully read all posted signs to ensure that their vehicle is parked in accordance with parking restrictions. Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found at the Blue Bikes website. and information on the MBTA may be found online. Walking is also a great way to move around Boston. 

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” signs will be on the following streets:

Beach Street

Both sides, from J. F. Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Washington Street

Harrison Avenue

Both sides, from Essex Street to Kneeland Street

Hudson Street

Both sides, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street

Oxford Street

Both sides, from Beach Street to Essex Street
