Jodi Sugerman-Brozan
Jodi Sugerman-Brozan serves as the Deputy Chief of Worker Empowerment and the Office of Labor Compliance and Worker Protections. The Worker Empowerment Cabinet was created to set the City’s future policy and vision for workers; regulate, oversee, and improve workplace conditions and health for workers; and expand economic opportunities for workers through quality jobs, skills training, and career pipelines.
Jodi joined the City of Boston after spending almost 30 working in leadership roles in Boston area nonprofits focused on environmental justice, public health and workers’ rights. Her strengths are in operations, program management, training and education, strategic planning, youth programming, fundraising and financial management. Most recently, Jodi served as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health where she oversaw all aspects of their work to ensure that all workers can go to work, earn a fair wage, be treated with respect and dignity and go home to their families alive and well. Jodi led the organization's efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, developing policies and training and educational tools to help keep workers safe.
Jodi holds a Masters of Arts in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University and lives with her family in Roslindale where you can often find her roaming the Arnold Arboretum with her dog.
