Tyrik Wilson

Youth Sports Initiative Manager

As the Youth Sports Initiative Manager, Tyrik Wilson's mission is to provide support to the many youth sports programs in our city and create new opportunities for our youth to provide them the resources they need to be successful in life through their sport. Wilson plays a key role in advancing Mayor Wu’s priorities by strengthening City government to be responsive to youth program’s needs and ensuring strong collaboration among City departments and local organizations outside City Hall to effectively deliver sports programs and services to the community. 

Before this role, Tyrik has worked with youth for the past 15+ years in a variety of roles, coach, mentor, counselor, and developmental trainer. Starting in 2013, he also has worked as a WIC Program Specialist for the USDA-Food and Nutrition Services Program(FNS) for ten years. During his time at FNS, Tyrik has also served as the Lead Diversity and Inclusion Specialist where he hosted cultural events locally and nationally.

Prior to joining the City in February 2024, Tyrik also served as a consultant for Thacher Montessori School, where he worked with youth with a variety of organizational and behavioral challenges. He was born and raised in Mattapan/ Roxbury, and is now a proud resident of Hyde Park.
