Sha Lee
Sha Lee is honored to be a part of the summer internship at OYEA. She was born in China and immigrated to the United States at the age of 7 when she was half a year old. Sha has been living in Boston ever since. Her educational journey began with attending Boston Public Schools from elementary school through high school graduation. She graduated from Boston Latin School, a competitive and rigorous school environment that taught her the importance of diligence and perseverance in her work.
After high school, Sha attended UMass Lowell for two years, majoring in Education, and then transferred to UMass Amherst, majoring in Community Education and Social Change with a minor in Sociology. Throughout her educational and career path, Sha has had the privilege of working with the community in non-profit, academic, and service-based settings, engaging with elementary students and youth. Sha discovered her passion for serving the community and making a positive impact in the world.
As she steps into this internship, Sha is excited to understand the ins and outs of working in public service alongside the collaborative manner of the OYEA team members who make all the programming come together. She aims to use her platform to uplift and support other young people and individuals within marginalized communities, creating a safe and welcoming space for them to belong and be included. She is looking forward to learning from her internship cohort, the OYEA team, and City officials through Education and leveraging our voices to make a difference in the city and community we live in.
Outside of her professional life, Sha enjoys journaling, writing, walking, and spending time with friends and family. She's a big fan of movies and shows.
