Following this, she signed on to continue working for the SuccessLink program itself and made her debut as a City of Boston employee with the Department of Youth Engagement and Employment (DYEE). Throughout her time at DYEE, she served as the Engagement and Outreach Coordinator, specializing in graphic design and community engagement. She went on to step into a full time role within the Department, leading the external communications and community building for the Department city wide. Most recently, Janai took her next step within the City and joined the Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement (OYEA), serving as the Communications and Outreach Manager. In this role, she aims to continue advancing her long-standing mission of amplifying youth voices and creating spaces and opportunities for young people across the city.
When Janai is not out and about in the city sharing resources and meeting with community members, she enjoys reading thriller novels, designing and building enclosures for her snakes, and being a pet mom!
