Dr. Carla Haith
Dr. Carla Haith is the Head of School at Mother Caroline Academy, the only tuition free independent school for girls in grades 3-8 in the City of Boston. Prior to becoming Head of School at MCA, she was Head of Lower School at Dedham Country Day School, a suburban PreK - 8 independent school in Dedham, Massachusetts. During her career Carla has taught children in Kindergarten and 5th with special needs and talents at the Mattahunt Elementary School in Boston. Additionally, she spent 14 years at the Chestnut Hill School where she co-directed the educator preparation intern program, mentored aspiring teachers, and taught kindergarten, second, and third grade.
She received her B.A. in early childhood education from Clark Atlanta University, a M.Ed in education from Lesley University/ Shady Hill School Collaborative Program, and most recently earned her Ed.D in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Carla is a proud member of the Boston Alumni chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. She is a committed Trustee of Project Step, a music program that provides comprehensive music and string instrument instruction to children of color who are aspiring musicians. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and mentoring young people through her service as a certified basketball official.
