Tour Buses in Boston

The City of Boston understands that tour buses and the companies that organize them serve an important role in bringing guests to Boston. We have a system of routes and pick-up / drop-off points to increase the efficiency and ease of operations throughout the City.

The route plan accounts for numerous drop-off and pick-up points throughout the Downtown Boston area. You can download the route map online. Part of the illustration is also pictured below for your convenience.

The map and accompanying information outline the specific places where tour buses visiting Boston can park to drop off and pick up visitors, and for how long they can remain parked at a particular location. The PDF also contains information on how tour buses should ideally move from one drop-off/pick-up point to another, and how they should move throughout the city in general to minimize congestion.

Please take note of the high number of tour bus pick-up/drop-off areas in The North End near and along the Surface Artery (John F. Fitzgerald Surface Road). For your convenience, we have included a photo below showing how tour buses should ideally park in this area.
