Southwest Corridor Crossings project
We want to improve street crossings along the Southwest Corridor in Roxbury, Mission Hill, and Jamaica Plain.
The Southwest Corridor Crossing Project is currently on pause. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is in the process of creating a comprehensive plan to renovate and modernize the Southwest Corridor Park, including bicycle and pedestrian crossings.
The Southwest Corridor is one of the busiest walking and bicycling routes in Boston. We will look at all street crossings on the Southwest Corridor, between Ruggles Street in Roxbury and McBride Street in Jamaica Plain. Some of these crossings are also near busy MBTA stations, with heavy bus traffic.
We want to upgrade existing street crossings. Our goal is to make it is easier and safer for people walking and bicycling to travel along and across the corridor. Our work will be limited to streets and sidewalks owned by the City of Boston.
