Kara Murray
Kara is the annual Public Service Fellow in the Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics. She is passionate about hands-on service, housing affordability, and creating more equitable cities.
She is a recent graduate of Harvard College, where she studied History. During her time in college, Kara interned with various non-profits and served as a director of a student-run homeless shelter. She also spent time conducting research on her favorite topic: public transportation and urban development in Boston.
She is thrilled to be working for the city on exciting projects that directly serve residents! In her free time, Kara enjoys discovering new places to drink iced coffee and running in Boston’s beautiful green spaces.
