Liz Kunesh
Liz Kunesh (she/her/hers) is the Training and Development Specialist for the City of Boston’s Office of Language and Communications Access (OLCA). In this role, she designs and delivers training programs to support city departments in providing accessible and inclusive services to residents who speak a Language Other Than English (LOTE), or who identify as having a disability.
Liz’s academic background informs her commitment to language access and equity. She earned dual BAs in Peace, War & Defense and Contemporary European Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds MAs in Political Science from both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Pompeu Fabra University. In her studies, Liz focused on migration, border politics, and the integration of displaced individuals. She is grateful for the opportunity to support OLCA in ensuring that all LOTE constituents and other individuals with communication-related needs have equitable access to services and city resources.
Before joining the OLCA team, Liz worked at the International Institute of New England, where she assisted refugee and immigrant communities throughout Massachusetts. She brings this experience to her work with OLCA, where she remains dedicated to ensuring that all Boston residents receive comprehensive language and communication accommodations in their interactions with the City of Boston.
