Naesoj Ware

2024 Summer Intern, BPS Capital Planning

Naesoj Ware is a Junior Political Science major with minors in Philosophy and Secondary Education at Howard University. A Boston native, Naesoj was born and raised in the city and graduated from the John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science. During her teenage years, she served two years on the Mayor’s Youth Council under former Mayor Marty Walsh and as a Student Representative on the Boston Student Advisory Council. Her advocacy extended to serving as one of two student representatives on the Opportunities & Achievement Gaps Taskforce for Boston Public Schools, where she contributed to the transition from the ISEE test to a lottery admission system for the district’s three exam schools.

Naesoj's commitment to community service continued during her undergraduate studies, where she interned for Global Vision International as a Community Development Intern in Accra, Ghana. There, she designed, implemented, and taught civic education courses for middle to high school students. Most recently, she served as a City of Boston Summer Intern with the BPS Capital Planning department, assisting with the Rebrand & Renovation project for Madison Park Technical Vocational High School and researching student engagement in BPS central offices, leading to a comprehensive student engagement plan recommendation.
