Caroline Larangeira

2024 Summer Intern, Mayor's Office Communications/Digital

Caroline Larangeira is a rising senior at Emerson College, where she is majoring in Political Communication and minoring in Pre-Law Studies. Caroline aspires to pursue a career in government, working in public engagement and/or communications. Growing up watching presidential debates with her dad, Caroline’s interest in government has only grown since landing her first internship in the Office of Mayor Michelle Wu in 2023 as a digital intern in the Mayor’s Communications Cabinet. While interning in the administration, Caroline grew particularly interested in public engagement and political messaging. After completing a summer with the Mayor, Caroline stayed at Boston City Hall to assist the City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) as a creative intern, where she continued developing her skills in digital design and brand messaging.

In the spring of 2024, Caroline worked at the Massachusetts State House for Senate President Karen Spilka as a communications intern, where she gained professional experience in writing press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and more. Since then, Caroline has returned back to the Office of Mayor Wu as a Digital Engagement Assistant for summer 2024 and is excited to continue building her knowledge and skills in digital communications. When she is not drafting social media posts for Mayor Wu, Caroline enjoys tap dancing in her college dance company, Emerson Urban Dance Theater.
