Heat Emergency in Boston

A heat emergency is in place in Boston through Tuesday, June 24. A number of splash pads and City pools are open, and select BCYF community centers are open as cooling centers during the emergency.

Aidan Callan

BERDO Program Manager

Aidan works to develop and implement policies and programs to support the City’s climate action plan, sustainable development, air and noise pollution reduction, and other environmental goals. This work includes the implementation of Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) which requires building owners to report annual energy and water use and develops an emissions performance standard. 

Prior to joining the Environment team in December 2021, Aidan worked with the benchmarking analytics company WegoWise in Boston. This included working with property managers and owners to analyze, interpret, and report their utility data. Aidan received his bachelor's degree in Energy Policy from UConn. 

As an enthusiastic hiker, Aidan is pursuing the completion of all 48 4000-footers in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He also enjoys painting, skiing, and running in the Boston area.
