The FY26-FY30 Capital Plan totals $4.5 billion. It includes 390 projects to be started or completed over the next five years.
- The Capital Plan is a multi-year plan for acquiring or improving physical assets we own and the means for financing the work.
- Capital projects provide a substantial improvement to a City asset or will extend its life. Example projects include a new school building, a park renovation, bridge repairs, and interior & exterior renovations of a library.
- The City funds the Capital Plan through the sale of municipal bonds, other City funds like parking meter proceeds, and state, federal, and private grants.

Boston's Capital Plan includes money for our schools, parks, streets, civic, and community spaces. These investments both maintain a state of good repair and build new shared public spaces for all.

The Capital Plan moves Boston's priorities from desire to creation and invests in creating a city for all Bostonians, where everyone has access to the resources they need to succeed.
These investments focus guaranteeing a school for every student that is safe, healthy, resilient, and inspiring; rebuilding our roads and sidewalks for multimodal transportation; renovating our parks and playgrounds; building and maintaining our Community Centers and Libraries; and planning for the future of climate change.
