Mayor Wu’s 2025 Property Tax Relief Calculator

The City’s tax levy is allocated between residential and commercial properties based on state law. Mayor Wu and the City Council have consistently prioritized residential taxpayers by keeping the residential share of the tax levy at the lowest amount allowed by law. This year due to national market conditions, the residential share of the levy spiked, resulting in residential taxpayers paying a larger portion of the tax levy and businesses paying less.

In 2024, Mayor Wu filed multiple rounds of legislation to reduce the impact of these trends on residents. This legislation was approved by the City Council and State House of Representatives, but was not approved by the State Senate. Use the calculator below to better understand how the legislation would have impacted your tax bill.
