Lexi Shetty
Lexi Shetty’s communications expertise is grounded in her academic background in Public Health from Tulane University, where she also worked with the Office of International Students and Scholars to foster a sense of community and connection among international students. Her early experiences as Community Liaison Intern with the FBI and Editorial and Global Re-Entry Assistant at the National Peace Corps Association shaped her commitment to service and storytelling.
Originally from Virginia, Lexi attended a legal studies academy high school, where participating in mock trial first brought her to Boston. She fell in love with the city and was determined to move back after graduating.
Before joining the City of Boston, Lexi served as Senior Communications Officer at a Boston based global public health nonprofit, where she managed content for high-impact public health initiatives, including projects supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the CDC. Traveling to places like Thailand and Rwanda, Lexi interviewed public health experts and shared their impactful work through multimedia content and strategic communications.
Since moving to Boston in 2022, Lexi has become deeply involved in the community, volunteering with Boston Partners in Education, coaching youth soccer with the North End Athletic Association, and supporting the animal shelter at The Animal Rescue League of Boston. Passionate about building connections and making a positive impact, she is committed to using her communications expertise to amplify the voices of those doing vital work in the city.
Now, as the Communications and Content Manager for the 311 Department at the City of Boston, Lexi develops and implements communication strategies to inform residents about 311 services and the vital work of the City staff who respond to service requests. With a background in public health and a passion for community engagement, she is committed to ensuring that every Bostonian is connected to essential city services and resources.
Outside of work and volunteering, Lexi leads an active and creative life. A lifelong athlete, she continues to play in adult soccer and volleyball leagues and recently completed her first marathon. Since moving to the area, she has studied improv for several years, won a local poetry competition, and loves being both a plant mom and a hamster mom. Lexi is always exploring new passions and experiences, continually expanding her definition of self.
