Project Goals

Brooke House at Olmsted Village is a six-story rental development for older adults (62+) on the former Boston State Hospital site in Mattapan. The project features 125 affordable apartments for households earning between 30% and 50% of the Area Median Income and two live-in manager units. The deeply affordable units will be supported by a combination of Section 8 vouchers from the Boston Housing Authority, MRVP’s from EOHLC and PRAC vouchers from HUD which are specifically for people 62+. Beyond housing, the building serves the broader neighborhood by hosting a permanent 46-space child care center operated by the Shattuck Child Care Center (SCCC) and a comprehensive health clinic run by Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC). Residents will benefit from 2Life Communities’ signature supportive services, which include wellness classes, cultural events, case management, linkage to resources and 24-hour emergency response support.
