Install or Replace a Water Heater or Boiler

Putting in a new water heater or boiler is a big job. You’ll need to hire a contractor who can apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform the work.

Who can install or replace?

  • Only a contractor with a valid, non-expired Massachusetts trade license may apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform any plumbing work related to installing or replacing these appliances.
